TELKOM NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS RETURN: FROM FIRST PASS TO CROWN- THE FUTURE OF NETBALL BEGINS IN CAPE TOWN

The pulse of South African netball beats stronger as the 2025 Telkom Netball Championships (TNC) gear up to ignite the courts of Hoërskool DF Malan in Cape Town from 7–11 July 2025.

This prestigious junior tournament will bring together 96 of the country’s most promising netball teams across the U17, U18 and U19 divisions in what promises to be an explosive celebration of talent, teamwork, and passion.

A total of 21 U17 teams, 22 U18 teams, and a record 53 U19 teams will battle it out on court as they chase glory, wearing their provincial colours with pride and purpose. But beyond the medals and match points, TNC is about the beginning of something greater, it’s where the first whistle signals the start of a dream, and every pass builds toward a crown.

Rooted in the heart of development, the Telkom Netball Championships serve as a vital entry point for aspiring players into the national sporting landscape. As the theme boldly states: “From the First Pass to Crown”, this tournament represents the initial step in a player’s journey toward elite-level competition, including the Telkom Netball League (TNL) and eventually, national and international recognition.

“At Telkom, we are deeply committed to developing talent from the ground up. The Telkom Netball Championships represent more than just a sporting competition — they are a launchpad for future stars and leaders. Every pass, every goal, and every game played is a step toward a greater dream. From grassroots participation to potentially donning the national colours, this is where aspirations take flight and possibilities come to life,” says Gugu Mthembu, Chief Marketing Officer.

Beyond showcasing athletic skill, the TNC is also a celebration of the vibrancy and diversity of South African youth, where every goal scored and intercept made carries the hopes of schools, communities, and families. The event also serves as a scouting ground for national selectors and professional teams looking to spot the next generation of netball stars.

Stay tuned across Telkom and Netball South Africa platforms for daily match updates, standout performances, and behind-the-scenes content that captures the heartbeat of the game.

Matches will be streamed on SuperSport Schools app.
