Table of Content

Johannesburg, South Africa – The countdown to one of South Africa’s most glamorous events has begun! The Feather Awards, known for celebrating excellence and influence in the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, has announced the nominees for its 17th edition.

The event will take place on Thursday, 6 November 2025, at a famous Johannesburg venue soon to be revealed. This year’s theme, “Pause, Look, and Listen to Your Heart,” encourages everyone to slow down, reflect, and live truthfully.

The 2025 awards will honour both established icons and rising stars. Seven special categories will recognise lasting impact, while others will spotlight bright talents who have made waves in entertainment and social media.

Co-founder Thami Dish said the Feathers are more than just fashion and glamour. “We celebrate, but we also educate and advocate. At a time when queer people face challenges worldwide, we use our platform to raise awareness, push for change, and build a safer, fairer South Africa.”

The Feather Awards celebrate people and productions that have not only entertained but also advanced inclusivity and representation.
