The capital city is set to come alive with soulful melodies and unforgettable rhythms as MATBAV proudly presents the inaugural Savor Soirée, taking place on Sunday, 23 November 2025, at the historic Ditsong Pioneer Museum in Silverton, Pretoria.

Headlined by South African songstress Siphokazi, the evening promises to be a musical and cultural showcase like no other. Joining her on stage will be Afro-soul and jazz vocalist Maleh, whose sultry voice has earned her a loyal following across the continent.

To enhance the experience, an exceptional lineup of DJs – Ismail Abrahams(Metro FM), Thabo Mokwele(Kaya FM), African Goddess, David Mashabela(Radio 2000), and Amon Mokwena (Motsweding FM)  and local community Dj’s – will curate soulful sounds that keep guests entertained late into the evening.

Set against the charming backdrop of the Ditsong Pioneer Museum, a venue that preserves South Africa’s rich history and heritage, the Savor Soirée blends culture, music, and lifestyle in an intimate outdoor picnic setting. With its rustic farm-style atmosphere, expansive lawns, and authentic heritage buildings, the museum offers the perfect stage for a day of timeless performances and lifestyle indulgence, elevated by premium beverages courtesy of GH MummThe GlenlivetValpré, and Schweppes.

The Savor Soirée is the brainchild of John Radipea Mathabatha, founder of MATBAV (Pty) Ltd.

Born and raised in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, John is an accomplished entrepreneur whose career spans architecture, technology, and hospitality. After studying Architectural Technology at Tshwane University of Technology, he went on to carve a dynamic career in IT, hospitality, and business, including professional rugby experience and international stints in Nigeria and Kenya.

John’s passion for hospitality saw him manage and own leading lifestyle brands such as Seattle Coffee Company, Kauai, Cappello Hatfield Square, and Black @ State Theatre, before founding Mathabatha Network Enterprise in 2018.

His journey culminated in the launch of MATBAV (Pty) Ltd in 2024, a merger of Mathabatha Network Enterprise and Bavumile Liquor, with divisions spanning Events, Liquor, and Pub & Restaurant. MATBAV reflects his lifelong commitment to creating lifestyle-driven experiences that bring people together through music, food, and celebration.

“The Savor Soirée is more than just a music event,” says John Mathabatha. “It’s about creating meaningful connections through culture, artistry, and heritage. With the Ditsong Pioneer Museum as our canvas, we are curating an evening that blends tradition and modernity in a way that speaks to our shared South African story.”

This inaugural edition sets the stage for Savor Soirée to become a signature annual lifestyle and music experience, celebrating artistry while showcasing the vibrant energy of Pretoria
