South Africans looking for a delicious and affordable way to kick off the weekend have reason to celebrate as Pick n Pay and First National Bank through its eBucks Rewards proudly bring back the much-loved Burger Friday deal.

Launching on 06 March 2026 and running every Friday until 26 June 2026, the popular promotion once again delivers unbeatable value for families across South Africa. FNB eBucks members can enjoy a build-your-own burger bundle for just R50, a massive saving from the regular price of R124, representing 60% off. Customers using a registered Smart Shopper card but who are not FNB customers can still enjoy the bundle for R100, making it one of the best-priced burger meal deals in the country.

The Burger Friday bundle includes four burger patties, four burger buns, two tomatoes, 80g lettuce mix and 100g Clover processed cheese. The items are fixed and cannot be substituted.

Pieter Woodhatch

According to Pieter Woodhatch, CEO of eBucks, the initiative is designed to help South Africans stretch their budgets while still enjoying meaningful moments with loved ones.

“For many of our customers every rand has a purpose. Burger Friday is more than a meal deal, it’s about bringing family and friends together and creating simple, feel-good moments without adding pressure to the monthly budget,” he says.

The promotion proved hugely successful in 2025, when customers unlocked the deal by simply swiping their Smart Shopper card and paying with an FNB card. The response showed how innovative loyalty partnerships can drive value, customer satisfaction and business growth at the same time.

Peter Arnold, Commercial Fresh Executive at Pick n Pay, says the campaign quickly became part of many households’ weekly routine.
“Burger Friday showed that when you combine quality ingredients with great value, customers respond. For many families it has become a regular Friday tradition,” Arnold explains.

The R50 deal is available in-store only at Pick n Pay Supermarkets and Hypermarkets for qualifying FNB customers and is limited to one deal per customer per week. Customers must swipe their registered Smart Shopper card and pay using an FNB physical or virtual card while also being an eBucks Rewards member.

To qualify, customers must hold an FNB Easy, Aspire, Premier, Private Clients, Private Wealth or RMB Private Bank account and must have been an FNB customer for at least 10 days before the promotion day.

Meanwhile, the R100 Burger Friday deal is unlimited for customers who swipe their registered Smart Shopper card. This option is available in-store at Pick n Pay Supermarkets and Hypermarkets and for delivery via Pick n Pay asap!.

Woodhatch says the campaign continues to set a benchmark for loyalty partnerships in South Africa, combining instant rewards, dual-programme value and data-driven personalisation to deliver meaningful savings for households.

As the cost of living continues to pressure family budgets, the partnership between Pick n Pay and FNB proves that great value and good food can still bring South Africans together every Friday night.
