Rugby fans attending the highly anticipated Springboks versus All Blacks match at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday, 22 August 2026, are encouraged to use Rea Vaya to travel to and from the stadium safely and conveniently.
Rea Vaya will operate a special event service from stations along Phase 1A, Phase 1B and Phase 1C routes to Ellis Park Stadium.A combination of trunk and complementary services will operate at 20-minute intervals from Thokoza Park and Indingilizi (Donsenville) to the Rea Vaya Ellis Park North Station from 13:00 to 16:00.Connecting servicesRugby fans traveling from Florida North and Newlands can use the C5 service to Library Gardens East to connect with event buses traveling to Ellis Park.
Passengers from Windsor West and Cresta are encouraged to use the C4 service to Library Gardens East, where they can connect with the event service buses to the stadium.Passengers using the following feeder services can connect to the Trunk service at Industria Station and travel onwards to Library Gardens East to connect event buses to the stadium:- F6: Lea Glen to Industria- F7: Fleurhof to Industria- F8: Greymont to Helen JosephPassengers traveling from Yeoville and Bellevue can use the F11 service, while those traveling from Parktown and Charlotte Maxeke Hospital can use the F12 service to Library Gardens East and connect event buses.
The T4A service from Sandton, Atholl, Marlboro, Alexandra, Balfour Park and Orange Grove will operate at 15-minute intervals, connecting passengers at Library Gardens East with the event service to the Ellis Park North Rea Vaya Station, located adjacent to the stadium.
Return servicesFollowing the match, Rea Vaya event buses departing from Ellis Park Stadium will operate at five-minute intervals to transport rugby fans to their respective destinations.The Rea Vaya event services from Ellis Park Stadium will operate until 20:00.
The last T4 service from the Johannesburg CBD to Alexandra and Sandton will depart Library Gardens Eastbound at 21:00. Affordable and convenient travelRugby fans can purchase account-based ticketing cards at all Rea Vaya stations for R30.00.
Passengers are encouraged to load sufficient funds for both their outbound and return journeys.The cards can also be retained and used for future Rea Vaya journeys and other events.
