A SOULFUL CALL TO ‘PAUSE, LOOK AND LISTEN TO YOUR HEART’ AT THE FEATHER AWARDS  


           Johannesburg, South Africa – Back for the 17th annual affair, the Feather Awards put out a soulful call to ‘pause, look and listen to your heart’’ tonight at the prestigious Melrose Arch’. And what a night it was!!

The evening was brought to life by the dynamic duo, Khaya Dladla and Andiswa P. Gebashe, joined by Pink Carpet hosts Penny Lebyane and Troy Malange, who infused the event with their trademark energy, charm and colourful flair. Their lively presence kept the night brimming with excitement, laughter and unforgettable moments as they guided guests through a spectacular program featuring heartfelt tributes, captivating performances and the celebration of extraordinary individuals making a lasting impact.

This year’s format was thoughtfully refined to celebrate both legacy and emerging talent. Seven honourees were recognized for their lasting influence, while the remaining awards celebrated incredible individuals who have captivated audiences across screens, airwaves, and social media throughout the past year.

The Feather Awards shone a vibrant spotlight on the personalities and productions that have not only entertained and inspired the nation but have also boldly advanced the conversation around representation, visibility, and inclusivity. 
      “This year, we wanted to remind everyone to pause, look, and truly listen  not just to the noise of the world, but to the rhythm of your own heart,” said Feather Awards co-founder Thami Dish. “The Feathers have always been about more than the lights and glamour; they’re about reflection, authenticity, and courage. In a time where so many are rushing through life, this night was an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your truth, and celebrate the power of living boldly and unapologetically.”The celebration honoured those who use their platforms to challenge stereotypes, celebrate diversity in all its forms, and create spaces where every voice and identity can be seen, heard, and celebrated. It was more than an awards show  it was a powerful reminder of how culture, creativity, and courage can drive meaningful change.

The evening was brought to life by a spectacular lineup of performers who kept the guests thoroughly entertained. The soulful Lira quite literally lit the night on fire with am unforgettable performance, setting an elegant tone for the night. Donovan Yaards followed with his vibrant energy killer dance moves, keeping the crowd swaying along. The talented Lebo Toko Mathibe delivered an inspiring performance that blended passion and artistry, while the incomparable Busiswa closed the show with her dynamic beats and infectious charisma, turning the celebration into a night to remember!
