Lungile Siyaphi, 22, stepped into history as she was crowned White Star Miss Soweto 2025 at a dazzling finale held at the Soweto Theatre. The night was filled with elegance, confidence and heartfelt storytelling as 20 finalists took to the stage , but it was Lungile’s calm leadership, warm presence and strong community vision that set her apart.

Representing Orlando East, the Wits construction management student won the judges’ hearts with her clear purpose, expanding a local feeding programme that supports children and vulnerable families. Her message was simple and powerful, beauty carries real meaning when it builds hope.

Two remarkable young women joined her on the podium, Boitumelo Molotsane as first princess and Kutlwano Zingitwa as second princess. Together, the trio reflected the pageant’s spirit, confident, goal driven women ready to serve their communities.

This year’s Miss Soweto journey began in October with the unveiling of the Top 20 finalists. In the weeks leading up to the finale, the contestants took part in workshops, mentoring sessions and community projects designed to prepare them for life beyond the stage. It was a reminder that the pageant is not just about crowns and cameras, but about growth, voice and impact.

When her name was announced, Lungile’s reaction was pure emotion, a moment of gratitude, disbelief and pride. She shared that the crown represents a promise to push harder for the people who raised her, supported her and shaped her.

Her first goal as queen is to expand her “Full Plates, Full Futures” mission, a drive to strengthen feeding schemes and empower young people through practical programmes. She plans to work closely with schools, community kitchens and local volunteers to make the project sustainable.

As Soweto welcomes its new queen, one thing is clear: Lungile Siyaphi is stepping into her reign not just as a beauty titleholder, but as a young leader with passion, purpose and a heart firmly rooted in her community.
