Ten years after Bad Hair first made its mark on Audiomack, Nasty C returns to the platform with “A Star Is Born,” featuring Riky Rick and Omari Hardwick, celebrating the journey from breakthrough artist to global star.

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – Ten years ago today, a young Nasty C released – or strategically leaked – his debut album Bad Hair on Audiomack. What followed became a defining moment in South African hip-hop, marking the arrival of an artist whose career would reach far beyond his home country.

A decade later, Nasty C returns to Audiomack to mark the anniversary of when the story began.

To celebrate 10 years of Bad Hair, Nasty C is exclusively releasing “A Star Is Born,” featuring South African hip-hop icon Riky Rick and acclaimed American actor and poet Omari Hardwick, on Audiomack. The collaboration brings together three distinctive voices from different corners of culture and allows fans to revisit a recording from Nasty C’s debut era and the people who were part of it.

The release also carries a unique piece of Bad Hair history. “A Star Is Born” was originally set to be on the album, but Nasty C had to remove it from the commercial release because of sample-clearance issues. Ten years later, the track returns to the same platform that helped introduce Bad Hair to the world, giving the anniversary a natural full-circle feel.

To further commemorate this milestone, Audiomack is also launching a dedicated Nasty C Hub, bringing his music catalog and story together in one destination for fans.

The hub will allow longtime listeners to revisit Bad Hair and explore Nasty C’s wider catalog, while new listeners can discover the music that helped establish his career.

Charlotte Bwana, Vice President, Marketing, Audiomack, shared: “A decade ago, Audiomack was part of the moment that introduced Bad Hair to a new generation of listeners, and it’s incredibly special to return to that moment with Nasty C. “A Star Is Born”brings together an important piece of his early story with two artists who helped make that era so memorable. We’re proud to celebrate ten years of Nasty C’s journey and give fans a chance to experience this chapter again, right where it began.”

“Ten years ago, I decided to leak my album on Audiomack because I couldn’t clear one specific song that was dear to my heart. A decade later, I’ve decided to finally put this song out so my fans can enjoy what I couldn’t release back then,” Nasty C said. “To my day ones, thank you for riding with me for all these years.”

The Nasty C Hub and exclusive release of ‘A Star Is Born’ are available on Audiomack from today, 23 September 2026.

Music lovers can download Audiomack from their mobile app stores and celebrate 10years of Nasty C’s Bad Hair with ‘A Star Is Born’.
