Johannesburg, South Africa – Music lovers and culture enthusiasts are invited to experience the powerful voice and storytelling of AusTebza when she takes centre stage at Untitled Basement in Braamfontein on Saturday, 29 August, as part of the HER: Divas in Concert Women’s Month live music series.

Born Tebogo Sedumedi, AusTebza is a celebrated bassist, vocalist, songwriter and music director whose musical journey began at just 15 when she picked up the bass because her band needed a bassist. What started as a necessity would become a 12-year journey as bassist in the late HHP’s band, sharing stages with some of South Africa’s leading artists, including Simphiwe Dana, Bucie, Wouter Kellerman and ProVerb.

Now, after years of helping bring other artists’ music to life, AusTebza is continuingto step firmly into her own spotlight. With two solo albums under her belt, she has established a distinctive sound rooted in African music and storytelling, drawing on traditional 6/8 rhythms and her own lived experiences.

Her performance forms part of HER: Divas in Concert, a Women’s Month collaboration between Divas in Concert and Untitled Basement. Now in its second season, the series features legendary and emerging South African women artists, creating a dedicated platform for women shaping the country’s musical landscape.

For AusTebza, the performance represents more than a live show; it is a moment to reclaim space as an artist in her own right and share a musical story that has been years in the making.
