Saturday, September 27, 2025, saw the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg come alive with phenomenal performances, leaving jazz lovers thrilled and energized. The second day of this iconic festival unfolded across four vibrant stages—Dinaledi, Conga, Diphala, and Mbira—each hosting a mix of local and international talent, ensuring audiences were spoiled for choice.

Standout Performances:

Benjamin Jephta: The celebrated bassist marked the tenth anniversary of his debut album Homecoming with a commanding set on the Dinaledi Stage. Accompanied by renowned musicians like Marcus Wyatt and Sisonke Xonti, Jephta delivered a performance full of depth and soul, earning standing ovations.

Leomile: Hailing from Lesotho, the soulful vocalist enchanted audiences on the Mbira Stage. Her performance was a beautiful celebration of Southern African musical heritage, showcasing her extraordinary vocal range and emotive storytelling.

Ntombi Meso: Also on the Mbira Stage, Ntombi brought her signature rhythm and energy, captivating festival-goers with a dynamic set that highlighted her versatility and stage presence.

Beyond the music, the Jazzy Joburg Market added a lively cultural flavor, featuring 25 local vendors offering handmade jewelry, fashion, décor, and artisanal delights. This vibrant marketplace celebrated local creativity while providing attendees with a unique shopping experience.
