The Her Brand Story Seminar, part of the Top 16 Awards programme, was held on 28 August in Midrand.

The gathering brought together founders, executives and rising entrepreneurs to engage in conversations around brand growth, leadership and women’s empowerment.

The seminar was made possible through the support of First National Bank as the main sponsor and other partners adding their backing.

Their involvement demonstrated a strong commitment to amplifying women-owned brands and platforms that nurture leadership.

The panel was dynamic, with each speaker bringing her own lived experience. Zandile Mkhwanazi founder & CEO at Girl Code ZA urged women to embrace the tech space, saying that technology is not just for men but women as well.

Mbali Sebapu founder & CEO of Hermosa Flor Cosmetics encouraged authenticity, stating, “Build brands that are authentic—when women create from purpose, the market responds.”

While Mbali Mdluli founder of Reliable Rendors Home Décor) highlighted the importance of resilience:

“Sustainability in business comes from consistency, not shortcuts.”

Meanwhile, Nombuso Sandawana founder of Noh Eyewear inspired innovation, remarking, “Don’t fear disruption—your unique idea is your strength.”

The seminar offered both inspiration and practical advice. Beyond the speeches, networking circles and mentorship conversations allowed participants to connect, exchange ideas, and forge meaningful partnerships.
