Five goals, a clean sheet and a statement of intent, as Orlando Pirates are ready for the African battlefield!
Orlando Pirates have booked their place in the 2026/27 CAF Champions League group stage after dismantling Namibia’s African Stars 4-0 in the second leg on 23 October, sealing a commanding 5-0 aggregate triumph.
The Buccaneers delivered a performance built on attacking ambition, defensive discipline and ruthless execution. With two goals in each half, Pirates demonstrated the composure required to navigate the pressure of continental football and turn qualification into a convincing statement of intent.

This was more than a victory; it was a demonstration of character. The Soweto giants controlled the contest, protected their advantage and showed the hunger of a team determined to measure itself against Africa’s finest.
For the Ghost, the result brings celebration, renewed belief and the exciting prospect of another continental adventure. The group-stage challenge, however, will demand greater tactical precision, relentless pressing and clinical finishing against opponents who will punish every defensive lapse.
The road to African glory is unforgiving. Every match will test the Buccaneers’ mental strength, squad depth and ability to deliver when the stakes are highest.
The mission now moves beyond qualification. It is about competing, conquering and restoring the Pirates name to the summit of African club football.
With the group-stage draw approaching, the question is no longer whether Pirates can make their presence felt, but whether they can sustain this momentum when the real continental battle begins.
The ocean is vast, the opposition formidable, and the stakes enormous. But Pirates have raised their sails and the voyage towards African glory is officially underway.
UP THE BUCS! LET THE AFRICAN BATTLE BEGIN!
