PUMA AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS CELEBRATE THE ART OF PLAY

Table of Content

Global sports company PUMA and Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (MSFC) today launched the new Home and Away kits for the 2025/26 season.

The Art of Play kit design is inspired by the dazzling combination of strategy, precision and artistry with which Masandawana plays the Beautiful Game.

At the kick off of every season the pitch is a blank canvas on which successive generations of Sundowns stars have expressed themselves by making intricate patterns of movement and innovative passing lanes – the team’s distinctive Art of Play.
The Home kit is in the traditional yellow shirt, blue shorts and white socks, while the Alternate kit features a white shirt, white pants and blue socks.

The difference is in the details. What sets the kit design apart is the eye-catching Art of Play graphic executed on the side panels of both the shirts and shorts.
The campaign video was executed using the animation expertise of agency Lucan and artist Simangaliso “Panda” Sibaya to tell the story of the Art of Play through the Art of Animation .

The campaign video, the players run off the field in celebration at the end of the game and leave behind a heat-map style trail of patterns. As the camera zooms out, we see the players have created the pattern found on the 2025/26 kit, creating the connection between the Club’s distinctive style of play and the kit design.
“The new look Sundowns kit is a celebration of the style of play that has earned this amazing Club eight PSL titles in a row, a Champions League star and many other accolades not least of which was their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup where that skill and style was on display for all to see,” said Brett Bellinger, PUMA SA Marketing Director. “The kit pays homage to this in a beautiful way with the underarm print using the unique, almost kaleidoscopic pattern inspired by traditional hand-dyed fabric combined with traced movements from analysing Mamelodi Sundowns games.” “This jersey reflects our identity and unique style of play, shoe-shine-and-piano, which was on display at the FIFA Club World Cup. Our style of play which is synonymous with patient build up play, style and flair, is what our supporters are accustomed to. Whenever Masandawana raise their hands when they sing or wave to push on the players, they will display our identity which will remind the players of what the supporters expect of them,” said Tiyani Mabunda, Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson.
The Authentic shirt to be worn by the players on the pitch is made with PUMA’s ULTRAWEAVE fabric, which reduces weight and friction, and features an athletic fit for elite-level performance. The Replica shirt is made with recycled polyester.
The Home and Away shirts will be available on 7 August 2025. The Authentic Players Shirt for R2299, the Replica men and women for R1299, and the Replica kids for R1199. The Authentic pre-match long sleeve zip top for men will also be available for R1599. Available at PUMA retail stores, PUMA.com, JD Sports, Totalsports, Sportsmans Warehouse and Studio 88.
