The highlight of the day was the presence of South African art legend Gogo Esther Mnguni, globally known for her colourful Ndebele designs. Born in 1935 and trained by her mother and grandmother, Gogo Esther has become one of the world’s most respected African artists, showcasing her work in international museums, major collaborations, and cultural projects across continents.

At the Sandton unveiling, Gogo Esther stood proudly alongside guests as Superga revealed the limited-edition centenary sneaker collection. Her appearance added deep cultural meaning, blending global fashion with South African artistic heritage. Photos captured her with family and attendees, celebrating a moment that honoured both her legacy and the brand’s long history.

The event reminded everyone why Superga remains a global fashion classic after a century, and why Gogo Esther’s legacy continues to inspire generations. It was more than a sneaker launch , it was a celebration of identity, culture, creativity, and timeless style.
